So my wife surprised me last night by working with Matt to get my new Open gun delivered on time for my birthday. Matt of course was working with her and feeding me misinformation so I was completely surprised. I don't know about you guys but how cool is that, and what great customer service. I think this may be the first, but it is a 5" RTS Open with Med flat SV trigger with new short slide racker. Attached is the pic Matt posted on his FB page.

With a honey do list as long as you now have I dont think you gonna be able to shoot it, better sell it off. :goof:

Sweet looking gun and what an amazing wife. My b-day is tomorrow and although my wife is a wonderful lady I'll probable just wind up with a card and cake.

Shot my first match with the gun yesterday it ran like a top. I however had a few mental mistakes which was to be expected on my first ever match as an Open shooter.

Boy did the gun get a lot of looks, many comments about how great it looked and many people were surprised by the weight of the gun.

Mat Price, as far as ejection of the brass it is not an issues at all the entire top of the ejection port is clear so brass can come out at any angle an clear the mount.

Awesome John how about the difference between standard cmore and the rts. Did notice a big loss in fov? Or is it pretty similar?

I have limited experience with open guns but here is what I know.
I have used a horizontal c-more and the RTS. With the RTS you don't even see the sight body or mount at all just the dot. No trouble picking up or transitioning to targets on the left or right.
The dot is not adjustable in brightness like the standard c-more, so if you are super picky about how bright you want the dot it may be something you want to test. That said, I set mine on the auto brightness feature and it was good. Not so bright that it caused the dot to become distorted but plenty bright to see (full bright sunny day).

As far as dot hight above the gun, I have shot a Glock in production for 6 years. I had about 600 rounds through the new gun before the match and very little dry fire time. I had no trouble picking up the dot on the draw or keeping it on index through out the stage. Feels very natural.

cool john thats what I wanted to hear. I also never notice the body of the sights I use. so thats not really an issue. What i am thinking my slide is very FLAT and even more has an end mill channel cut down the center for popple holes in the bbl. I am thinking I can get Matt to send me one not drilled.I can then set the mount up by milling it down so I can get it as close to slide as possible. I see yours is very close already, but I want to do a little experimenting. I am thinking taking some material off the upright bottom and maybe under the flat and get it way close. of course I wouldn't hold Matt responsible for any breakage after.

john could you post another pic of your gun from the other side particularly showing the gap between the bottom of the RTS mount and slide. It looks like Matts got your pretty dang close.

There is a little wiggle room under the scope. All depends on where the holes are drilled on your frame.

I have the undrilled blank mounts in stock.
