That's what I would do personally. I think they go for around $45.00. Well worth the extra cash...hell that's cheap anyways.Midway makes a great bag for the money.

I just looked and there were several nice ones for 25-35 bucks.
You can always tell if a shooter is a three-gunner: A 50 cent target with three dollars of tape on it.

The Sears number is 937537.
One bag is 13 inches, the other 18.
I paid $16 out the door for it, but it looks like online together they are $10.

EDIT: for ammo, I like the $6 ammo cans from the army surplus store. I can actually write on them with chalk what's inside them, .22LR, 9mm, .40 etc. And they do stack neatly and almost interlock with each other when sitting on a shelf or the floor.

Hey Chevy, that's great if you live in a state that allows it. Here in LaLa land we must lock our guns in the range bag, in our trunk. The LaLa Police of course can go hot.
The LA Police gear "bug out bag" has carried everything I've needed at many major 3 gun matches.
I love my small bug out bag. I looked into getting the larger version but decided the small held as much as I cared to tote. I use it as my range bag, USPSA match bag with a folding stool, and for 3-Gun sitting on top of a milk crate that is on a folding wheeled luggage cart. It works great, is tough, good looking, and cheap enough to buy more than one for different set-ups. They are so cheap I bought another one but just use my first one and swap the contents out. http://www.lapoliceg...tabaoutbag.html
Much obliged,
Max

Husky tool bag, with lotssss of pocket for almost everything. And as it's a roller, it's easier to carry with lot of ammo.

I've started to use back packs.....never mind that I have back pack that you can put a rifle (or shotgun). I also have a rifle case that doubles as a backpack.
I did just get a conventional back pack however, that has all sorts of pockets and it was like $25 or so.....pretty usefull, I could carry all my 3 gun gear and pistol, then just carry a double rifle cloth case. It's been kinda handy to carry everything. I bet you could find an ALICE pack w/frame on the cheap too.
Tim
+1 on the backpack, makes stage-to-stage easier when the weight is on both shoulders.
I would add that a sturdy laptop backpack works GREAT! Laptop pouch holds 2 pistols in a soft side case easily, room for ammo and muffs in the other big pockets, and the smaller zipper pockets hold mags, tools, etc.
Targus is what I use, and it allows me to wear it on my motorcycle to I can drive to matches with better gas mileage.

gun, holster, 4 magpouches, LULA, 250 rounds of ammo and a gob of mags

The small altoids tin is for my earplugs

The black can is a Hogdon powder jar. It will hold 250 9mm or 150 .45's...

Not completly unconventional, but unexpected, here's my take:

The buckets/lid you get with kitty litter work good, too. Waterproof and it will hold whatever you can jam into it!

It is physically impossible for an object in motion to move in two separate directions simultaneously.
I may be slow, but I'm inaccurate.

That is how it sits in my safe and my trunk. Once I get to the range, the gun, holster, mags and earplugs come out and are put on, leaving plenty of room for other stuff to take to the stage. I actually have magnets in one of those Nalgene coozies so my drink sticks to the outside of the can.

you know I have no cash shortage however
i have spent so much time makeing something out of nothing
that now I can make almost anything out of little.
I sew with one of those stichers sold by 'Cheaper than..."
and I put a D ring on any bag, now its 'Cal legal' in my trunk.
So I agree with you,
Keep your powder dry!
