Only loaded FMJ and JHP but need to find a suitable copper plated or frangible bullet for a steel comp and I have no idea where to start.

What are the best choices for a plated 124 or 147g bullet?

What are the best choices for frangible or are they one and the same?

And....what bullet and receipt would you suggest to load for? MP 4.24" & 5", Sig 226, HK P30L.

Thanks in advance.

Is frangible required? The only place I have ever shot that required frangible is the close quarters shoot houses at Gunsite Acadamy. In 9mm I load a 147 Bayou Bullet for both USPSA and Steel Challenge matches.

Don't know why they would require frangible. I hate the stuff. When someone is shooting next to me at a range I'm picking slivers out of my beard for a week. Those damn things sting as well. Load the plated using lead data +10%.

Berries, Rainier's or Bayous

I'm thinking Berries unless you can convince me otherwise. I like plated over moly.

I've loaded and shot 500 Rainier 124g FP at USPSA and steel matches this spring. Worked great for me, accurate and soft shooting with 4.4g Universal. 1.06 OAL for 130 PF from my 4 inch FNP9. I probably didn't need to load that short but that was where my press was set already.
