What is required to convert an STI Edge in 10mm over to a 40 S&W limited class gun? I know I'll have to get a new barrel, but will I have to swap ejectors, extractors, magazines? I have the oportunity to pick one up locally for a really good price, its coming with 5 mags, a holster and 700 rounds. If it will be just a barrel swap I will probably jump on it, but if it gets more involved than that I will probably just troll for a used setup.
Thanks,
Polytech

Just a barrel will do it, maybe the frame needs to be cut for a barrel ramp. With .40 you get to use cheaper brass too.

I'm in the process to convert a Colt Delta Elite to .40 too.

I believe the fram is already cut for a ramped barrel.

What about the mags? Do they need a spacer? or will they run as-is?

mags are good, you may have to load long for reliability, no spacers needed.

then experiment with loads and recoil spring combos, lots of info in old threads here

Hello: New barrel as you know already. Everything else will work just fine  You could instal either a bull or bushing barrel also. Thanks, Eric

Just to second what the others have said--a couple years ago I found a helluva deal on a Glades Gun Works Caspian 1911 in 10mm on Gunbroker, installed a Kart EZ-Fit barrel, and it has made an excellent Single-Stack pistol for my son. Nothing should need changed except the barrel and maybe the recoil spring.
