got a Smith model 19-3 with recessed cylinder. Got a chance and bought another cylinder that is not recessed and is suppose to be for a model 19 or model 13.

The non-recessed cylinder is slightly smaller but has a slight lip where the ejector rod goes into the cylinder and means the crane/yoke has a problem. With the recessed cylinder, the yoke goes into the cylinder. With the non-recessed there is a little lip that will not allow the yoke to go into the cylinder and does not allow the yoke to go into the gun properly. the new one fits the gun and seems to lock up without the yoke. Is there different yokes for a recessed and non-recessed cylinders?

Help...thanks

Solaritx, Is that lip you refer to, a gas ring? I am no expert but I would not see there to be a difference between the recessed and the regular cylinders fitting on the yoke. Measure the two cylinders, Difference in length should be the same as the rim thickness of the brass. The guys that know more than I probalbly will answer in a few. later rdd

Let's try this another way.....can anyone tell me if a model 13 cylinder is interchangable with a model 19?
Is the yoke of a model 13 interchangeable with a model 19?

thanks

They are normally interchangeable.
