I just got a new shadow and it looks like it came with a set of thin grips but I can't seem to find them anywhere. I like the look of the little small pocket of grip tape

Those aren't them. They don't have the small oval pocket on the right side for the grip tape.

if you look at the picture in the first link for the grips section it show the grips your looking for:

http://www.doublealp...51eaa4acb54b6dd

but when you go to the second link they don't show that small patch of grip tape your looking for but the insignia at the top of the grip is the same:

hope this helps

Are those as thin as the cz custom grips or are they a little thicker. I want to try a set of thicker grips since I feel like I am violating the gun at times. LOL

They looked thicker until I took them off and measured. They are the same size. They feel thicker also but they have a different cut in the back. Try the aluminum thick grips and see if that does anything for you.

Brian...for thicker, more anatomical grips, look into these. I have a pair and their contoured/radius surface provide more anatomical support and subjectively fit better than the flat aluminum grips.

I like those grips as well but I'm trying to shave some weight as well so I can play both games with my SP01. It may get to the point where I just get a 75 Shadow instead of a SP01 shadow.

Corey...first, congrats on the Alabama win.

I don't really shoot IDPA, but have tried hard to get my Shadow down to the 39oz threshold. But, alas, I gave up - had to deal with "extremely" light grips, 10-rd mags, lightened mag brake, plastic guide rod, etc. To me, there are too many variables and time is a scarce resource. I do think the 75 Shadow or the new Shadow Combat II (if you can find one) is the way to go.

Thanks!!

That gun would rock but the problem is they only made 4 so it would never be production legal. My gun is currently at 40.8oz with aluminum grips and a SP01 magazine. I'm thinking I can get it down to 39 or close. We'll see if not then I'll have to do something else :-)

I am using the VZ grips now and they fell pretty good. I just put a set of rubber grips from a small frame witness on also and they are thick......I am trying to find something to split the difference.

I too decided to just go with the Shadow T. Be aware though- the frame IS different between the two... it's not just the dust cover. The SP01 frame has beveled magwell opening- the Shadow T doesn't. It appears that the opening of the SP01 is slightly larger too- I may be wrong. The SP01 has some stippling on a small section of the back strap- the Shadow T doesn't. Everything else seems the same from what I can tell. Plus the CZ 10 round mags suck compared to the MecGar 17 rounders.

So... if it's a ball buster to make the SP01 light enough for IDPA... and the regular Shadow gets you there... what are you giving up with the regular Shadow? Not enough to make it worth it IMO. I will be using my Shadow T for both IDPA and USPSA.

I have small hands and love the lighter Aluminum grips - however I don't think they would be good for larger hands.

Stu, like the ones in that picture. They are evidently old style thin aluminum.

It's too bad they got rid of the oval area. I have the old style on my 85 and tried the new style with my shadow. Being a lefty my support palm would slide all over the place during recoil once my hands got a little sweaty. I don't have that problem with the old grips. I ended up switching to VZ Diamond Backs and I'm really happy with them.

The problem is the angle that are on the back of the grips aren't the same. The new ones have 2 angles and the old ones have just one angle which I like better.
