Sorry about this being my first post, but I have been a long time reader.

Anyhow, I just got my RL550B press back from Dillon for repair and overhaul. Got everything back on the bench and setup. And to my surprise, the arm that holds the primer catch bin is on backwards. How did this happen? Has anybody had something like this? Dillon had the press for 3 weeks for repair plus the time it takes to mail it.

See the attached picture.

The lower part of the arm is a bolt, but the upper arm is pressed in placed.

A mistake is a mistake and I am sure Dillon will fix this but I would really like to hear what they have to say.
Good luck,
Marc

I will be calling them on Monday. They have been great to deal with on past issues.

Just so you know you can take the press apart by yourself to turn the arm around. It only requires simple tools. However when you remove the ram from the main plate it requires a special tool fitted into a powder die to align the plate with the toolhead. They run about $10 is memory serves. Under the circumstances I am sure Dillon will send you one free of charge. If not you can borrow mine.

Excellent advice, I wish I followed:
1) See everything.
2) Count to six.

If you can't turn it around yourself you can just put a waste basket under it to catch the primers.

You can easily do it.

Right to the left of the roller handle is the special alignment tool. You put a powder die in station 1 and drop it. The small tip fits into the primer hole in the plate to make sure you are in alignment.

I have taken my 550 totally apart.

Took your advice, and took the lower assembly all apart. See my picture, not very hard at all.
Found a paddle bit extension that would fit in the hole on pin holding lower arm.
