Huge props to the Stag Arms model 3G after Kalani Laker took 2nd place in at the Superstition Mountain Mystery 3 Gun this weekend using the rifle.

Anyone know which sling-stud will work on the 3G's handguard? It looks like it requires a long shaft and a very thin backing plate?

Samson makes a QD sling mount specifically for the Evo rail. It includes 2 screws and the backing plate.

Ah, should have been more precise. I need a sling stud for mounting a Harris bipod... not a QD sling point.

I called Stag, they said "put a picatinny adapter on your bipod and stick it on a rail". Samson said "we'll have one by the summer, in the meantime go to walmart and get one you can put on with a machine screw, and put a nut and washer on it as a backer."

I'm looking for better options than either one of those...

I mounted one of the rail sections that came with my gun and used my harris bipod with the LaRue QD picatinny mount. Word of caution. The Samson gas block is very close to the rail attacehment backer if you mount it directly under the gas block. Mine acutally touched the gas block throwing my POI way high!

Thanks, Jesse. I haven't gone that direction yet mostly because it looks like an awkward solution to have the bipod base that far away from the tube. The Harris bipod is designed to pull against the stud and self-center against the handguard, it doesn't seem like it would be as stable if it is mounted on a rail. How solid is your rail + adapter + bipod setup?

The rail is tight on the tube and the QD mount tension can be adjusted so you have to pry it off. It's rock solid on my setup and it comes off very fast if need be.

Kudos to Stag Arms. I returned their comp and they sent me their new and modified comp. They get A for effort but failure for results. The modified comp is simply not effective. But Stag Arms did try. Afterwards I purchased several different popular comps and together with some that I already had set out to try them on the rifle. My results were as follows; I found the Spike to be my favorite, Titan a close second and the big Talon third. But I ended up with a comp manufactured by a local gunsmith on my rifle. And now when I go to the range other AR-15 shooters are in awe. The end result is that I am ecstatic with my Stag Arms 3 G.

Puma will you drop me a note I tried to send you a private msg but it says you can't use the messaging system. I'm in Miami and I have a few questions on your 3G if you don't mind.

Mini Uzi, please contact me directly at my E-mail address. I love my Stag Arms 3 Gun rifle. I think that for the price nothing comes close. And I really do not know of any AR-15 that I would rather own. Stag Arms did an incredible job on the rifle. But of course you have to replace the comp that comes with it. I am not going to beat a dead horse for it is what it is.

If you are in the south Florida area you are more than welcome to try my AR-15.

Would like to hear from you,

The match is invite only but the side match for the public should be an easy win for a serious 3 gunning spectator.

What I ended up doing was taking one of the screw in sling studs from my JP, and screwing in one of the backings of the rail holders, Perfect fit! and very clean looking.

Man! If I wasn't going to be at the SC sectional, I would make that drive. Any others like this planned in the near future?

June 16th is the only other one in 2012. It's being held just outside Atlanta, GA.

I tried that, but the threaded section on the JP stud I have wasn't long enough (I have the "kit" from jp where the backer protrudes almost all the way through the vent-holes in the VTAC hand-guard.) I'll dig around in my box and see if I can find a longer one. Great idea!

The backer I'm using for the Jp stud is the one that comes with the Evo rail pieces I just used the 2 section. The Evo back pieces are contoured to the inner rail to allow a flush fit
