Shot a match Sunday, it's Thursday afternoon now and the match results still aren't posted.

I've already forgotten the stages.

Is this common? The other two local matches I shoot usually have results out by Monday.

Good thing I didn't burn it down, or I'd be volunteering to do them myself.

Is it unrealistic to expect timely results? Is scoring a 40 person match really that time consuming?

It depends entirely on who is doing it. We have one club here in New England that has results on the web the same evening as the match on a regular basis. Others can take several days to a week. Totaling all of the scored hits on the scoresheets and making sure everything is clear can help the stats person get the results out faster. ;)

We have a fabulous stats person (The magnificent Wadette) and we have the match results posted before we can tear down the stages. The results are posted to the website before dinner on the same day of the match. Folks around here have grown to expect that.

There is really only one way to know for sure. Volunteer to do the scores for the next match and time yourself. Make sure you start on them right when you get home from the match to make sure you're still tired from the match and any road trip necessary to get home!

Then you will know the answer! :)

I get results out via e-mail on the evening of match day. By contrast, I have been shooting at a club about 100 miles away for three years and I have received results exactly two times.

Is scoring a 40 person match time consuming? Depends on how many wrecks you run into with the score sheets. I have taken a couple of hours to do the stats for a 20 person match with only 4 stages and I ain't new at the stats gig.

Our club was really bad last year (weeks  ), so I stepped up and took over. My goal is to post them the next day. I usually run them on match day, and then double check them the next day and post them. I think I am going to start bringing a laptop and hanging around and posting them right after the match....

There is NO reason not to post them the same day, IMO. If you can't do the jobon time/correctly, don't ask to do it.

I've done the stats gig for several clubs, for several years. We usually make every accomodation for the stats person to "shoot through" so that they can enter the stages while they are being shot. If the stats person can catch up to the shooters, they can have the final results within a few minutes of the last shot fired. Our stats person currently has an injured wrist and is not shooting. Her husband shoots and she does the stats. Even when she shoots, she has the results completed within 15 minutes of putting the equipment away.

I dont mind if they arent posted on the web that day but the next is fair. All local matches in Houston have the finals printed within a half hour of finishing the match. It is really nice.

With a computer and somewhat-dedicated stats staff on-site, it is reasonable to expect 'shortly-after-the-last-shot' results. Without that, somebody needs to go find 2-3 hours to type everything in-- I can see that taking a few days occasionally.

What annoys me is matches (major ones especially) that post results right after the match, but you have to wait a week or more for the results to show up online. What's up with that? Once the match is scored posting online shouldn't take more than five minutes, plus however long it takes to get to the nearest internet connection.

I'm about to start getting serious with my digital camera and wireless internet laptop-- I could get 'em uploaded before the prize table even starts at most ranges.. More than once I've surfed BE.com while waiting for results.

You could probably get help with that type of addiction if you first admit there is a problem. :P

Ahh, the well worn "put up or shut up" refrain.

I will not volunteer unless I'm reasonably sure I can expend the effort to do the job well- I suppose I expect the same from others.

One of our regular shooter's youngest daughter does stats during the match. We pay her a dollar per shooter. We go through the results at the end of the match, and I take the match database/results, etc. home and input the match results, classifier scores to USPSA, and post them on our club website that same day.

I absolutely loathe going to a match at another club and waiting days to review the results, as I usually don't spend much time evaluating the match results there.

Our match dates are usually pretty close to or past the deadline for submitting classifier results before the monthly run, so instead of mailing them in, I do it all online, and pay with a credit card so our shooters have the quickest turnaround time possible in seeing their classification go up, down, or remain the same.

Man you’re not kidding Brian! I left the match and drove straight home pausing only to drop The Shipster off at his house, logged on and there they were! :) :)

She is 15 or so I think, and uses the Club PC and EzWinScore.

Our stats guy gets them posted on the web match day eve then I grab them and do the club classifications. All done and posted by bedtime.

Might be some confusion here....... unless you crossed many many time zones! :D

Again, I TRY to run them same day..... then SLEEP on them.... then double check them, before posting. My problem lately is that I have not made it to our local matches because of other conflicts (April... work... May... L2 class.... June.. 3 Gun). In those cases the scoresheets get mailed to me (snail mail), so it take a few days.

Trying to do better and the ultimate is running scores right after the match, and then tryng to post them immediately... ;)

Sunday/Saturday match results are usually up by Thursday.
"If you were one of America's Founders, and you'd just surprised the world... by winning a war of secession against the most powerful and heavy-handed government on the planet, and the last thing in the world you wanted for yourself, for your children, or for your grandchildren was to fall beneath the heels of its jackboots again, what would you want the Bill of Rights to mean? And if the first act, under martial law, of that powerful, heavy-handed government had been to try to take your guns away at Lexington and Concord, would you have written a Second Amendment to guarantee its 'right' to own and carry weapons? Would you have written a Second Amendment that was subject to whatever government claims is 'reasonable regulation'? Or would you have written the Second Amendment to forbid government from having anything to do with your guns?"

I shot a local match on May 2nd and they still haven't posted the results, but the classifier we shot at the match is already entered on my record. Isn't that something.
