I am using once fired brass with a "U" die. The brass is bulged near the base and is stiff to run through the resizing die. Works great after that in the case gauge and in the guns(STI and Para). With a little spray of One Shot case lube the effort is almost to zero to run through the resizer.
I have not had any problems with case lube on rifle cases so would there be any reasons to not use it sparingly on pistol cases?

None at all......I use it for all of the pistol calibers that I reload. I also use a U die for .40 and its absolutely neccessary in that case.

Never had any problems with One-Shot. Absolutely love the stuff.

Drenching the cases in OneShot might make them a bit sticky to touch once the carrier has evaporated, but judicious application is fine. AAMOF, most people I know use it as part of their progressive loading routine - smoother press action is both less fatigueing (sp?) with than without, and your ammo is much more likely to be consistant without all the jumping around that comes from pushing and pulling the case in and out of the sizing die.

Try it. You will never go back.

An experiment with gross misaplication of One shot showed no discernable effect on ammo.

Excellent stuff.

I recently started using One Shot at the suggestions of some shooting buddies. I agree with TBF in that I'll never go back. (voluntarily!!!) I experimented in throwing in some unlubed cases after loading a bunch of lubed and the difference was dramatic.

A side benefit of Oneshot is you don't have to clean it off your cases, and it will help some hicap mags feed better.

According to the label it doesn't affect powder or primers, so it's perfectly safe to use. :D

Danva,

No problem using it on the pistol cases. Just don't get too much otherwise it can get gummy.

I spray the bejeezus out of my cases with One Shot. I'm not even remotely careful either. It gets inside the cases. I can see the powder stick to it when I dump charges. No problems yet, and I don't expect any.

FWIW, anything that makes your press run smoother is going to produce more accurate ammo just because you're not rattling the powder measure.

A couple of months ago I broke the crank on my 550 so I went to my buddy's house and loaded on his 650. I took my brass lubed with One Shot and took about 300 more than I needed. He knew I used One Shot but he did not think it was worth the effort. I purposely left the extra brass in his hopper without saying anything about it. About a week later I got the "call". He said: "I was loading and thinking, wow, my press is running smoother than it ever has. Then I ran out of brass in my hopper and things went back to normal. It took me a while to realize what went wrong. What is that stuff you use to lube cases with and where do you get it".

You just have to show some folks. ;)

Great stuff, especially when using the "U" die. The one shot, should increase case life since you aren't working it as hard in the resizing die. (Pure speculation)

Thanks to everyone for the responses. I didn't think it would affect the loaded rounds. I shot some this afternoon and could tell any difference from the previous ones that I loaded except for press effort.
