I recently purchased some Taylor Freelance basepad extensions and have a question regarding installing them on my M&P magazines. I am unable to install the follower on the extra strength springs because the springs do not have the bend at the end necessary to install the follower. The springs are too stiff to bend-cannot get any leverage. Please advise. Note: Why weren't the springs pre-bent to fit the follower at the factory?

Just an informational reply, the same thing we discussed on the phone but this may help some others. The only reason for the bend in the mag spring is to facilitate assembly at the factory, it has no functional role other than that. It is actually a little cheaper to make the spring without it so when we designed the spring with ISMI we decided to save the money as it didn't affect the way the spring worked. DO NOT try to bend the end of the spring, it was not designed to be bent like the factory spring and will be too short to accomplish the same thing.
