Today at a match we were shooting one of the classifiers...

Standing behind a barricade, three targets 7 yards ( I think ) down range on the right, three targets to the left of the barricade, same distance. Hands relaxed at sides. On signal draw and place two shots on each of the left targets. Perform a mandatory reload and place two shots on each of the targets on the right side.

Repeat.

First string one shooter shot the three targets on the left side of the barricade, reloaded and fired on shot on the target on the right. At that point he had a bullet stick in the barrel.

How do you score the entire stage?

I know the answer. I was the rules director for 6 years but no one else there, even guys that have been shooting ICORE forever, knew how to score it. We did get it wright. Would you?

You would record his time, score the hits one each target plus misses and failure to engage for the entire stage. Eight falures to engage the misses will take care of themselves when you score the targets. I am not sure about the proceedural for failure to do a required reload on the second string but it would only be one proceedure. We used to have max times in the old days of 5 seconds per hit required but did away with the max time because of the longer stages. later rdd

ETA He would have time to "repair" his revo for the second string if he wish to do so and could continue the stage on the second string. You never mentioned if he did that. later rdd

If the classfier was CS-028 [don't have a link], and if has fired two shots on each of the left targets, reloaded and fired one single shot on the right target before the barrel blockage.

Then he would be awarded all hits up until the malfunction plus the five misses that he hasn't fired on the right targets, plus one fail to engage per target for the two targets he hasn't fired at, so five misses and two FTE plus clock time and any B's and C's.

He would then be able to repair the blockage and complete the second string without penalties.

Hopefully with some powder in his ammo. :D

Cavallino has the right answer.

Thanks for playing.

We could also just RTFM which is located here. ;)

10. If at anytime a competitor is unable to finish a stage or string because of the competitor's equipment failure (i.e. barrel blockage, firearm breakage, etc.), the competitor will be scored his time and hits for the course of fire until the breakage, and awarded ALL penalties for misses, failures to engage, and any other procedural penalties appropriate to the stage or string.
